Welcome to the Summer DX season of the 10-10 News. Solar Cycle 25 has just produced eleven solar flares 4 M and 7 C class in size that hit Earth today June 1^st.  There is some prop on 20 meters but none on 15 and 10 with HF blackouts in the Pacific and Atlantic.  The highest flux so far was 343 on Feb 17, 2023 and May 14^th was the biggest X2.7 flare in 2025 causing blackouts in Europe and Asia.   I have seen five Solar Cycles over the past fifty years and this Cycle 25 is the second strongest!  A  rare DX country is active this week from Lakshadweep Isl using call VU7T but no 10-10 members are in this group.

My next thought for this article is to thank my good friend Mel KD5DE #33513 who died on May 12, 2025 for his long dedicated service to his country and 10-10 International. 

My first radio QSO with Mel  was before we had personal computers to log contacts in the mid 1980’s.  Mel organized the first 10-10 convention in Shreveport LA, where I talked about DX in 1987.  I wrote my first DX article for this News letter in 1991 after the President of 10-10 asked me to write about 10-10 DX.  That was thirty-three years ago and many conventions have Mel and I both attended at a 10-10 table.   Mel had many private stories that can’t be repeated, so RIP.

There are DX reports below that you can see if you worked a 10-10 member in your log and then watch for some future DX trips to maybe work a new country in your log.

The big event in March was the ARRL DX SSB Contest.  It was not a 10-10 event but any DX contest is always a chance to put 10-10 or DX in your log, which should be one’s goal.

During some QSO parties the past years, the higher solar flux caused poor propagation.  The sun generated large flares that caused radio blackouts over parts of the earth.

The ARRL website hack last year is now all back to normal.  The  DXCC awards function was fixed and the LoTW data was all ok.  The processing of DXCC and awards took longer to fix and now all is reported to be back to normal. 

DXCC award processing was taking about 8 days in April.

This past year was the best time for the USA to talk into Europe and the Pacific. http://hamgallery.com/W1JR/The ARRL 10 Meter contest in December has always been the most popular contest and I talked with a few DX friends during the contest.  So propagation for my station was the same for the last two years.  The Winter SSB QSO Party, was a noisy weekend due to a solar flare. You should have a goal of finding new members on Ten and logging them.  Each week I read DX articles and look for 10-10 members going places so I can write about them here and I found several new members recently.  At my station, I have not found a new 10-10 country in about seven years so I hope to catch some members at a new DX site soon.  So watch for them on the dates given below to catch a new one and try to talk with old friends on the air to pass the time.

2025 Heritage CQ DX Hall of Fame award at the Dayton DX Dinner May 16^th.  The award is now given by INDEXA and it was presented to Nodir by Bob N2OO #12732.

Countries Awards:  There were no Countries Award applications submitted this past quarter.

General 10-10 DX reported in the past quarter:

4U United Nations NY.  The UN station 4U1UN #55555, in New York City, was not active on Ten this past quarter.  The UN is the closest DX country for USA hams to work and the beacon is on 28200 MHZ.

4U Geneva.  The UN in Geneva Switzerland, 4U1ITU #11111 NOW has a new club callsign 4U0ITU to commemorate the ITU Union 160^th anniversary until year ends.  Remember  the 1010 number is only assigned to call 4U1ITU and not to the new 4U0ITU!  So ask them for the old call and log it!  LoTW.

5A Libya.  Abubaker 5A1A #69222 was using his new call 5A1AL for Libya only on FT8 this past quarter.  He can only give you his old 1010 number which is assigned to him.

D6 Comoros Isl.  Elvira IV3FSG #54292 was back in D68Z from March 2-31^st SSB, CW and Digi and all bands.  LoTW.

EA6 Balearic Islands.  Rene EA6/DL2JRM #69623 will be traveling a lot this summer, first to Balearic until May 18^th.

Mostly CW.  After this he is going to a lot of places all through the summer, more info coming.

ET Ethiopia.  Ken K4ZW #18573 was not back in ET this past quarter.  The club call ET3AA is not a member.  So you must find Ken K4ZW when he visits back at the club.

Ken did not operate in the USA during this time either.

FM Martinique.  Darrell AB2E #9753 was in Martinique from May 20-27^th using callsign TO3E mostly CW.  LoTW.  

J6 St. Lucia.  Several ops were at club J62K on Ten this past quarter.   Bill K9HZ #2618 planned to operate from J62K with some youth operators.  LoTW.

K USA.  Will WC6DX #27111 was on San Clemente Isl. from May 23-27^th.  Only SSB and CW no Digi. 

  Ed N7PHY #58098 was in grid DL88 which is mostly in Mexico for a POTA activation May 19-25^th

KH0 Mariana Isl.  Tom KC0W #67688 is using his new call KH0W and most of his operating was on CW.

KH8 American Samoa.  Robert KH8/K0NR #40615 was in Am. Samoa from May 27^th to June 9^th. 

OY Faroe Islands.  Scott OY/KA9FOX #31122 was on the island in early May on HF but no info on 10 Meter activity.

P4 Aruba.  John W2GD #14109 was back at station P44W

in Aruba from May 20-27^th.   The CW WPX contest was that 

weekend and John likes CW on all bands.  LoTW.

V4 St.Kitts & Nevis.  Juan AC6ZM #65893 was on St.Kitts from May 18-27^th all bands and modes.  Juan may have used  call V49K in a DX contest.  LoTW.

V5 Namibia.  Mike V51MA #64688, continues to help the daily 10-10 net when he has propagation from Africa on 28380 MHZ at 1800Z, except Sunday’s.

VP5 Turk’s & Caicos Islands.  John K4BAI #45389 and friends will use station VP5M in May until the 27^th.  This maybe the last use of the station as the site is for sale.

VP6 Pitcairn Island.  Miralda VP6MW #50434, was active this past spring on FT8 28074 and maybe some SSB 28555. 

ZL7 Chatham Islands.  Holger ZL3IO #22401, was back on Chatham, from May 18-26^th working on antennas and two power inverters.  He only operated low power as ZL7IO for the first day of the WPX CW contest.  His daughter Xenia ZL4YL #77857, joined him in November 2024 using her call as ZL7YL.  Chatham is a rare location 500 miles from New Zealand and there is no member living on the island. 

Future DX & New 10-10 Activity:

3A Monaco.  A Special call for the 100^th Anniversary of Monaco is from April to June 30^th for callsign 3A100A.  The only 10-10 member is Claude 3A2LF #36994 who has been on 15 CW in March and last on Ten Meters in Jan 2015.  

3Y Bouvet Island.  A big DXpedition will land in February  2026 on Bouvet using call 3Y0K.  No 10-10 member is on the DX team at this time.  Good luck.

9U Rep of Burundi.  A DXpedition to Burundi will take place from October 29^th to November 19^th using callsign 9U1RU.  Most ops are Russian like Vic UA3QLC #52770 but Hal W8HC #12502 is a most experienced DX operator.  They plan to have 7 stations active on all modes/bands. Such a large group will be slow to build/takedown with ten

radios and nine antennas planned!  The last 10-10 from Burundi was Iris 9U5QL/SK #21226 in Dec 1991!

A4 Oman.  Roman R5AA is using the A47RS #42043 club station in Oman while waiting for his new home to be finished.  Roman should only give the club info at the club!

C9 Mozambique.  Vic UA3QLC #52770 and two friends, will be on two different islands for a week each in July.  Vic is the only 10-10 member in the group.

CE0Y Easter Island.  George CE0YHF #39382 has a job on the island.  Bad weather has broken his antennas so he will replace it with a vertical for his 10-watt radio.   I did not know George was on Easter Isl until this week so good luck.

CY0 Sable Isl.  A DXpedition scheduled for March 2026 will take place by ops that were on Sable in 2024.  Members  were: Mike K9NW #29804, Larry W0PR #31559 and Dan W4DKS #5395.  The full list of ops will be updated soon.

HR Honduras.  Alex K6VHF #77458 is going to Roatan Isl from July 3-9^th using call HR9/K6VHF.  His radio is 100 

watts to a vertical on all bands/mode’s and FT8 Digi. LoTW.

K USA.  I am predicting the best propagation in June could be two days before Field Day June 28-29^th assuming no solar flares the week before Field Day.

VP0 South Georgia Island.   A DXpedition to this rare island will take place in March 2027.  The rare country is owned by Norway.  The list of 10-10 ops is unknown now.

VP9 Bermuda.  Kyle WA4PGM #50763, will be in Bermuda from June 10-17^th as a ParksOnTheAir trip.  LoTW.

DX Propagation:   I expect the solar flux to range from 115-179 this Summer.  The June 21^st Summer Solstice will be in three weeks.  Days are getting longer for us in the USA and Northern Hemisphere.  Cycle 25 eleven-year cycle, started more than five years ago in November 2019.  Sunspots are always counted by looking at the Sun but the solar flux is measured by radio at 2.8 GHZ several times a day. 

The monthly max solar flux was:  Jan 2025 234, Feb 220, March 204, April 182, May 159.  Average 167.

The  monthly min solar flux was:  Jan 2025 156, Feb 153, March 140, April 148, May 115.  Average 142.

On June 1^st, the solar flux was 151, the A index 126 and K index 7 and Poor Propagation!  Cycle 25 hit a maximum flux value of 343 on February 17, 2023.  Previous solar peaks were in 2014, 2001, 1989 & 1979.  The USAF forecast for June 1^st to July 15^th has a range of 110-165 with average flux 127, which is down many points from the last quarter. A flux graph shows a declining curve, which indicates lower flux and the peak has probably past!

My Prediction: The next four months, the best propagation on Ten could be on: June 1-2^nd & 27-30^th,  July 23-26^th, August 18-20^th & Sept 14-18^th.  For USA, expect a 40-60% chance of DX to Europe, Asia, S. America or Pacific.  Use the beacons on 28.175-28.300 MHZ to see if Ten meters is open.  If the band is closed for SSB, try FT8 on 28074 for a QSO.

Two new DX members joined 10-10 in May:  Richard DC1RW #78428 and Melanie DN9WOA #78429 are from Germany.  The last USA member to join was Steven KI5EWG #78427 in May.

Welcome to the Winter DX season of the 10-10 News. Solar Cycle 25 is producing big sun spots giving us high solar flux levels.    The highest flux this year was August 8^th at 336 but last year on Feb 17^th it was 343 which may be the record high for Cycle 25!    These two big flux numbers may indicate a twin peak for Cycle 25.    The high solar flux this year gave us some bad propagation during two QSO Parties.    There are twenty-three DX reports below that you can check and see if you made it into your log and three future DX events for you to chase.    Good luck hunting the DX.    Happy Holidays.

The ARRL website hack on May 15^th required professional help to fix damaged computer systems.    Servers were hit and the DXCC awards function was broken.    The LoTW login was back on-line by July 1^st and all data were ok.    However, the processing of DXCC awards began in late October.    The info on their website said 3000 applications were waiting to be processed.    I found an old list of DXCC applications from July 2023 to May 2024 by callsigns.    I counted about 15,000 DXCC apps for this 11 month period. This info was available on their website in November.

The winter DX season is the best period for the USA to hear into Europe and the Pacific areas to get more DX into your logs.    http://hamgallery.com/W1JR/The ARRL 10 Meter contest on December 14-15^th is by far the most popular contest.    So, turn on your HF radio and find a new country and some new 10-10 members that second weekend of December.

USA east coast stations have been talking with Europe this past Fall. The Digi and CW QSO Parties were a poor 10-10 event due to disrupted propagation and results are posted on the 10-10 Website.    Congratulation to Walt WB7UOF #29034 for his first place score in the October CW QSO Party.    Thanks to Dan KZ3T #41015 for scoring and sending out the certificates for the QSO Parties.    Remember, this is the 62^nd anniversary for 10-10, so try to find members with a 62 in their 10-10 number and log them.   

The fall months have been above average for Ten meter skip.    You should have a goal to find new members on Ten and log them.    Each week I read DX email articles and look for 10-10 members going places.    But the past months, I have seen fewer members going places, maybe because of the heat and flu.    I have found only a few 10-10 members going to DX sites, so watch for them on the dates given and hunt for the new DX you may need.    In the October 26-27^th CQWW DX SSB contest, I talked with a few old 10-10 members on the air. https://cqww.com/rules.htmFinding new 10-10 members to log is harder for me here in Louisiana since my vertical antenna is not as good as the 4-element beam I had at my previous station in Texas.

Countries Awards and 10-10 History: I am still collecting history on the past 10-10 presidents.    There were no Countries Award applications submitted this past quarter.

3D Rotuma Island.    A DXpedition from November 15^th to December 4^th used callsign 3D2Z.    Hal W8HC #12502 had to cancel his trip.    They had 3 stations and 2 remote Ribs operated by young ham ops but no 10-10 by anyone.

4U United Nations NY.    The UN station 4U1UN #55555, in New York city, was heard once in November on CW and once on SSB in September.    The beacon is always on 28200 MHz and the UN is the closest DX country for US hams!

4U Geneva.    The UN in Geneva Switzerland, 4U1ITU #11111 was using FT4 on 10 Meters in late November.   

I Italy.    Elvira IV3FSG #54292 was back home in September on Digi.    She went DXing to TL the Central Africa Republic in late November, see below.

K USA.    Andy AA5JF #46516 was on Dauphin Island in late August and September 1^st but I found no 10 meter reports and all were mostly CW.

KH0 Mariana Isl.    Tom KC0W #67688 has used his new call KH0W from the island where he has been for five years.    Reports for him in Oct/Nov were on CW.    He hopes to erect a better hexbeam on the island.

KH8 American Samoa.    A DXpedition to Am. Samoa by three ops was from September 2-16^th using call KH8T.    Don N5DD #32255 was the only 10-10    member, they setup two stations operating on CW, SSB and FT8.

LA Norway.    Several ops using call LN8W in the CQWW CW contest and Tom LA9GX #25949 was the only member.

J6 St. Lucia.    A big group of ops were at J62K in the CQ WW SSB October 24-27^th.    The 10-10 members: Bill K9HZ #2618, Dan W0CN #27026, Kyle WA4PGM #50763, and Steve W0ZB #37921.    LoTW.

OA Peru. Ed OA4SS #10802 was last on Ten in May    when he was on CW, around 28030-28018 MHz.

TL Central Africa Republic.    A DXpedition into Africa    by Elvira IV3FSG #54292 started on November 26^th for 14 days using call TL8ES.    No 10-10 members live in this country, so consider this a rare 10-10 DX country! LoTW.

UN Kazakhstan.    Uwe DL8UD #70315 was on from September 11^th to 13^th using call UN/DL8UD.    He was reported on 28385-390 MHz.    Another rare 10-10!

V3 Belize.    Scott K5PS #52535 used call V31CO from November 23-30^th and he was in the CQWW contest.   

V5 Namibia.    Mike V51MA #64688, continues to help the 10-10 daily net on Thursdays, when he has propagation from Africa on 28380 MHz at 1800 UTC, except Sunday’s. He is sometimes on CW 28025 MHz after 1900 UTC other days.

VP5 Turks & Caicos Is. Several ops using VP5M were in the CQWW CW contest.    Two members were: Dennis K2SX #9023 and Vernon AC0W #71644 from November 23-24^th.   

VP6 Pitcairn Island.    Miralda VP6MW #50434, was active this fall on FT4 28180 and some SSB around 28555.   

XT Burkina Faso.    A group of 14 ops were on from October 31^st to November 10^th as XT2MD.    Two members were: Peter DL2LAM #54293 & James KB2FMH #77506.    There were openings from Africa for several hours during their stay in Burkina Faso with lots of contacts.    This was a rare 10-10 DX site on SSB.

Z6 Kosovo.    Rene DL2JRM #69623 used callsigns Z68XX and Z66BCC in November, from eastern Kosovo.    In the CQ WW DX CW Rene used call Z66BCC.    Rene has more than 55+ countries to his DX credit so good luck on a new one.    I have no idea how many times he may have used his 10-10 during his travels. He does not use LoTW.    Good luck.

ZL7 Chatham Islands.    Holger ZL3IO #22401, who lives in New Zealand, worked a lot at the ZL7DX Chatham contest station in October.    Chatham Island is 550 miles east of New Zealand.    He wanted to improve the existing antennas at the site, and the power needed for the amps and radios.      He was able too op during the CQ SSB contest in late October.    His goal is to be ready for all DX contests but his first priority was for the CQWW DX CW contest on November 23-24^th.    Holger’s daughter Xenia ZL4YL #77857, joined him for a week at the improved Chatham station.    Xenia’s call was used during that CW contest.    Holger had to improve the power at the station so they can run two stations during contests. The old battery system runs for 12 hours.    I suspect his goal for the new station is to have a 50 percent increase in scores for all contests in the DX winter season.    Note: Chatham had 10-10 activity in 1990 by Miki ZL0ADN/HA8XX/SK #39935.    But you must consider this a rare 10-10 location as there is not a 10-10 member living on Chatham! when he was on CW, around 28030-28018 MHz.

TL Central Africa Republic.    A DXpedition into Africa    by Elvira IV3FSG #54292 started on November 26^th for 14 days using call TL8ES.    No 10-10 members live in this country, so consider this a rare 10-10 DX country! LoTW.

Upcoming DX & New 10-10 Activity:

3D2 Figi.    Al K7AR #2736 and Bob W7YAQ will DX from Figi on December 1-2^nd, then come home.    They just came from FW Wallis Island from a 15 day DX operation.

FJ St. Barthelemy.    Phil K2LIO #7746 is now using call FJ4WEB but he has been off the island for a few months.   

Last year he came back to the island in November for his    Winter and Phil is the only 10-10 member on St. Bart.

N USA.    The Battleship IOWA will be on the air from    December 7-8^th using a special call NEPM.    They will be working split frequency out of the ham bands and not using their NI6BB #77115 callsign!    No info if they will be on 10?

Propagation:      I expect the solar flux to range from about 170-300 this Fall.    The sun moved across the equator on September 22^nd for the autumnal Equinox, and the Winter Solstice starts winter on December 21^st for our shortest day of the year.    Cycle 25 eleven-year cycle started five years ago on November 17, 2019 and sunspots are counted by looking at the Sun but the solar flux is measured at 2.8 GHz.   

The monthly max solar flux was:    Jan 196, Feb 208, Mar 209, April 227, May 233, June 203, July 242 and August 336, Sept 262, Oct 312 and Nov 260.    Average 244.

The    monthly min solar flux was:    Jan 126, Feb 137, Mar 127, April 112, May 135, June 165, July 164 and August 204, Sept 154, Oct 162, and Nov 140.    Average 148.

On December 1^st, the solar flux was 204, the A index 11 and K index 1.     There were many sunspots on the Sun over the past year to boost the solar flux higher.    So far:    Cycle 25 hit a high flux value of 343 on February 17, 2023.     

The previous solar peaks were in 2014, 2001, 1989 & 1979.    The USAF forecast for December 1^st to Jan 14^th has a range of 190-220 with average flux 210, which is down 47 points from the last quarterly forecast.    The flux graph is showing    no growth in the curve of the flux numbers the past three    months, which may indicate a peak of cycle 25 has past.

My Prediction:    Over the next four months, the best propagation on Ten could be:    December 7-11^th;

January 2025 2-5^th, February 1-4^th, & March 1-4^th.   

The ARRL Ten meter contest is on December 14-15^th , just a few days after my projected high for December 2024.   

For the USA, expect a 20-50% chance of DX to Europe, Asia, South America or Pacific areas.    Use the beacons on 28.175-28.300 MHz to tell if the band is open.    If the band is closed for SSB, try using FT8 on 28074 for a QSO.

There were only two new DX members who joined in Sept to November:    Guyle VA6VA #78361 & Robert VA7RLS #78364 are the last two DX members that joined.    David KC1TLF #78371 was the last USA member to join.

Welcome to the Spring DX season of the 10-10 News. Solar Cycle 25 has produced lots of sun spots resulting in good  solar flux levels.  The highest flux so far in 2024 was Feb 8^th at 336.  On Feb 17^th of 2023, it was 343, which could be the record high for Cycle 25.  The high for the previous quarter was in Dec 24th at 260 and a low of 161 on the Dec 12th.  We may have a twin solar peak in Cycle 25. 

During some QSO parties and contest last year, the higher solar flux produced poor propagation on some weekends.  The sun unleashed an X2 class flare on February 24^th that produced radio blackouts over parts of the Pacific Ocean.

The big event for today March 1^st, is the ARRL DX SSB Contest that runs for 48 hours.  Its not a 10-10 event but there is always lots of DX that you can add to your log. There are twenty-two DX reports below that you can read and see if you worked a new member in your log and four future DX events for you to look forward to working.

In 2024 the ARRL website was hacked and required professional help to restore some computer systems.  The DXCC awards function was broken but LoTW was soon back on-line and the data was all ok.  The processing of DXCC did not began until October and now all of the DXCC award processing is back to normal except for the 46 day turnaround time it took to get the award in February! 

The winter season was the best time for the USA to hear into Europe and the Pacific areas to work DX.  http://hamgallery.com/W1JR/The ARRL 10 Meter contest in December is the most popular contest.  I found only a few 10-10 friends during the 10 Meter contest last year.  So propagation for my station during the 10 Meter contest was the same for the last two years. In the Winter SSB QSO Party was a noisy event due to a big solar flare before the contest. Congratulation to Henry DL8YBM #36109 for his first place score in the QSO Party.  During the QSO Party, I logged 23 new 10-10 members with 156 QSO’s for sixth place in the top ten.  Thanks to Dan KZ3T #41015 for scoring the contest and sending the certificates for the QSO Parties.  Note, this year is the 63^rd anniversary for 10-10, so log members with a 63 in their 10-10 this year. 

The winter months have been above average for Ten meter skip.  You should have a goal of finding new members on Ten and logging them.  Each week I read DX articles and look for 10-10 members going places.  But the past months, I have seen fewer members going DXing.  I have found only a few 10-10 members at DX sites, so watch for them on the dates given and try to work the new DX.  In the last winter DX season, I talked with a few old 10-10 members on the air. https://cqww.com/rules.htmFinding new members is now harder for me to find here in Louisiana since my vertical antenna is not as good as the old beam antenna I had in Texas.

I received news that a good friend that had given me several new 10-10 countries, had died.  Dennis K7BV #5414 became a silent key at his home on January 9, 2025 at the age of 76.  He had several medical problems over the past years.  He got his ham ticket in 1962 as a teenager and by the time I met him in Houston, he could send 50 WPM on CW.  We were both members of the Texas DX Society.

When I knew he was going DXing, I made sure he knew I needed him in my log for a new one at places like KP5, OJ0, and 4W.  He moved from Houston and worked as ARRL Sales and Marketing Mgr, editor of NCJ magazine and then with Yaesu as a VP of their Sales Division and hamfest.    Dennis had accumulated 8 US callsigns over the years and operated from 41 countries but he was in 17 more countries were he could not talk for various reasons.  His ham lifeblood was always a fast rate on CW!  RIP my friend. 

This Day in History Feb 20^th: In 1962 I was fifteen years old when 10-10 was organized.  NASA launched an American astronaut John Glenn into space to orbit around the earth three times and become a NASA hero on landing.  But the Russians had already put two men into space before Glenn got there and 10-10 became an organization on Ten.

General 10-10 DX reported in the past quarter:

3D2 Fiji.  Al K7AR #2736 and a friend, were again DXing as 3D2NB from December 1-2^nd mostly CW.  They have used this call in 2006, 2009 and 2013.

 4U United Nations NY.  The UN station 4U1UN #55555, in New York city, was heard only once on digi January 27^th.  The UN is the closest DX country for USA hams to work and the beacon is on 28200 MHZ.

4U Geneva.  The UN in Geneva Switzerland, 4U1ITU #11111 was using digi on 10 Meters in December 2024. 

I Italy.  Elvira IV3FSG #54292 was on digi in December but she was DXing from the Central Africa Republic in November and returned home in mid December to Italy.

5A Libya.  Abubaker 5A1A #69222 was using his new call 5A1AL for Libya on FT8 this past quarter.  He can give his old 1010 number for 5A1A which is assigned to him.

6Y Jamaica.  Negril VE4GV #8852 was using callsign VE4GV/6Y from February 8-23^rd.  Both modes and digi.  

C6 Bahamas Isl.  John K4SGR #46403 and a friend, were in the Bahamas from February 12-16^th using call C6ADA.  Mostly SSB and CW with some FT8.

ET Ethiopia.  Ken K4ZW #18573 was back in country in January.  The club call ET3AA is not a member.  So you must find Ken K4ZW when he visits back at the club.

You can not assume it is Ken operating from the club.

K USA.  The museum ship Battleship Iowa NI6BB #77115 was worked on February 22^nd and is docked in S. California. 

The ship does not operate very often so this member is hard to find and put in your log, so good luck.

KH0 Mariana Isl.  Tom KC0W #67688 has used his new call KH0W from the island where he has been for several years.  Most of his operating in 2024 was on CW.

LA Norway.  Several ops using call LN8W in the CQWW contests and Tom LA9GX #25949 was the only member.  CW reports for LN8W on Ten Meter contest in December.

J6 St. Lucia.  Several ops were at club J62K on Ten from January thru March 4^th on SSB and CW.   The 10-10 members: Bill K9HZ #2618, Dan W0CN #27026, Kyle WA4PGM #50763, and Steve W0ZB #37921.  LoTW.

Bill K9HZ does plan to operate from J62K this Spring with several youth operators.

OA Peru.  Ed OA4SS #10802 was last on Ten in May 2024  when he was on CW.  I know his QSL manager George KB6J #12337 is now an SK.  If you have an update on Ed, please send it to me by email.

P4 Aruba.  John W2GD #14109 was back in Santa Cruz at P44W from February 10-18^th, and his favorite mode  CW.

TL Central Africa Republic.  A DXpedition into Africa  by Elvira IV3FSG #54292 started on November 26^th for 14 days using call TL8ES.  No 10-10 members live in this country, so consider this a rare 10-10 country!  LoTW.

V5 Namibia.  Mike V51MA #64688, continues to help the 10-10 daily net when he has propagation from Africa on 28380 MHZ at 1800 UTC, except Sunday’s.

VK9C Cocos Keeling Isl.  Larry W5EIT #13658 was on from Cocos from February 11-18^th using VK9/W5EIT. 

VP2E Anguilla.  Chuck KG9N #17038 was using call VP2ECV on CW in early February until the 18^th.   

VP6 Pitcairn Island.  Miralda VP6MW #50434, was active this past fall on FT4 28180 and some SSB around 28555. 

VP9 Bermuda.  Les N1SV #71546 is using call VP9/N1SV from February 27^th to March 3^rd but in contest he is VP9I.

Z6 Kosovo.  Rene DL2JRM #69623 used calls Z68XX and Z66BCC last year and he now has many country credits.

ZL7 Chatham Islands.  Holger ZL3IO #22401, worked a lot at the ZL7DX Chatham site which is 550 miles east of New Zealand.  Holger’s daughter Xenia ZL4YL #77857, joined him on Chatham using her call for a contest.  In the past, the only Chatham 10-10 activity was in 1990 by Miki ZL0ADN  #39935 who is now SK.  This site is a rare 10-10 location, as there is not a 10-10 member living on Chatham!

FJ St. Barthelemy.  Phil K2LIO #7746 is now using call FJ4WEB but he has been on/off the island for a few months.   Remember, Phil is the only 10-10 member on St. Bart.

KH0 Mariana Isl.  Tom KC0W #67688 will be using a new call KH0W in 2025 for DX contests.  His amp will give him one KW into his new hexbeam antenna.

Propagation:   I expect the solar flux to range from about 130-235 this Spring.  The March 20^th Vernal Equinox will be your Spring event in three weeks.  Days are getting longer for us in the northern hemisphere.  Cycle 25 eleven-year cycle started five years ago on November 17, 2019 and sunspots are counted by looking at the Sun but the solar flux is measured by radio at 2.8 GHz. 

The monthly max solar flux was:  Jan 196, Feb 208, Mar 209, April 227, May 233, June 203, July 242 and August 336, Sept 262, Oct 312, Nov 260, Dec 260, Jan2025 234 and Feb 230.  Average 244.

The  monthly min solar flux was:  Jan 126, Feb 137, Mar 127, April 112, May 135, June 165, July 164 and August 204, Sept 154, Oct 162, Nov 140, Dec 161, Jan2025 156 and Feb 153.   Average 150.

On March 1^st, the solar flux was 155, the A index 32 and K index 3.  Cycle 25 hit a high flux value of 343 on February 17, 2023 and the previous solar peaks were in 2014, 2001, 1989 & 1979.  The USAF forecast for March 1^st to April 14^th has a range of 155-210 with average flux 178, which is down 32 points from the last quarter and 79 points the past half year. The flux graph is showing no growth in the curve, which indicate’s the peak of cycle 25 has past.

My Prediction:  Over the next months, the best propagation on Ten could be on: March 22-26^th, April 18-22^th, May 14-20^th & June 10-14^th.  In the USA expect a 50-85% chance of DX to Europe, Asia, S. America or Pacific areas.  Use the beacons on 28.175-28.300 MHZ to tell if the band is open.  If the band is closed for SSB, try FT8 on 28074 for a QSO.

Steven K3GGR #78415 was the last USA member to join.
