Rules:

 

• The 10-10 Counties award accepts contacts made to/from a fixed, portable, or mobile station. The basic and all other upgrades to this award are free and may be submitted via email.
• QSO locations and county determination is by one of the following methods:

     

  • The National Zip Code and Directory of Post Offices is the official guide in determining the county of contact by referencing the name of nearest municipality.

       

  • In the case of Parks or Reservations not within a county boundary, applicants may claim any single adjoining county.

       

  • Several states have Independent Cities that may qualify for a county contact. A listing of approved Independent Cities is included below.
     
• QSL confirmation is NOT required for the 10-10 Counties award; however a station’s log data must be made available to the Award Manager upon request.
• The initial 10-10 Counties Award is issued for submittal of the first 100 counties. Counties may then be submitted as worked in groups of 100 after issuance of the initial certificate.
• Details for each contact MUST be submitted in the following order: state (the two letter abbreviation is preferred but not required) and county worked, 10-10 number, callsign, name, and date of contact. Calls should be marked /P or /M, as appropriate.
• Forms suitable for submission of county applications are available in HTML or PDF formats among the Key Forms. Also available there in text or PDF format is a complete list of counties in the US.
• Seals will be issued for the following levels of achievement in 10-10 county hunting — RED for 500 counties, BLUE for 1000 counties, YELLOW for 1500 counties, GREEN for 2000 counties, SILVER for 2500 counties, GOLD for 3000 counties. A Plaque is awarded (at no charge to the applicant) for working all 3077 US counties.
• The Award Manager has the capability to prepare a listing of all credited and worked counties for each 10-10 member in ASCII text file format. Any 10-10 member may request such a listing. The listing will be indexed alphabetically by county with the date format as MM/DD/YY. To receive such a list of counties worked either e-mail or send an SASE to the award manager.

1-1 DX COUNTRIES AWARD RULES

Rules:

 

• The initial award is available for contact with a minimum of 25 countries.
• All stations claimed MUST be contacted from the same country and contacts MUST have occurred since January 1, 1975.
• The ARRL Countries List serves as the authority to determine country designation. Countries deleted from the ARRL listing may be claimed for endorsement only.
• All stations claimed must be “Land Stations”. Contact with ships or airplanes cannot be claimed. Member stations operating portable from countries listed by ARRL may be claimed subject to normal verification.
• Applications should be submitted on forms provided or photocopies thereof. Computer printouts of your contacts are acceptable as long as they follow the format used on the original forms — country, 10-10 number, callsign, name, and contact date. The award is available to all current paid members of 10-10 at no cost. Upgrades are SASE USA and $1.00 for DX. Please include your E-mail address, if you have one.
• Send a SASE to the Award Manager for a copy of the application forms. Forms are also available on the 10-10 DX Page.
• The country of residence of the applicant will count as one country for the award and must be claimed by the applicant.
• Applications for endorsement seals must be in multiples of 10, from 35 to 75 countries, and in multiples of 5 thereafter.
• QSL confirmation IS NOT required for the DX Countries award.
• 10-10 Awards general rules and requirements are applicable.

• A contacted station may be counted only once.
• All stations must be contacted from the same country and all contacts must have occurred since January 1, 1997.

RULES:

 

• The initial certificate is awarded for a minimum of 25 contacts with Ten-Ten members on Ten Meters. As of August 9, 2007 the Digital Award is available to all current paid members of 10-10 at no cost. Endorsements and upgrades available via a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope for return.
   

• All contacts must be made using one of the following acceptable modes, these modes allow for the proper Ten-Ten exchange as prescribed by the Ten-Ten award general rules.Future modes that allow this exchange will be considered when they become available.

  • FSK Modes (AMTOR, G-TOR, TOR, THROB. RTTY, MFSK16, Olivia)

  • PSK Modes (PSK, CLOVER, PACTOR, PACKET)
     

• There will be two endorsements available for the basic award, PSK and RTTY. The basic award is required to earn these
  endorsements. However, if the requirements for the endorsements are met on the basic award application, the endorsements will be issued at the time of basic award issue. These endorsements will be issued with 10 contacts in these two specific modes. For these two endorsements only, a contact worked can be used in either or both of these modes.
   

• Bar awards will be issued at 50, 75, and 100 contacts. After 100 contacts bar awards will be issued in increments of 100. For the bar awards any of the acceptable modes will be allowed for the contacts, but a contacted station can be counted only one time.
   

• All stations must be contacted from the same country and all contacts must have occurred since 1 August 2006.
   

• Applications for the basic award should be submitted on the forms provided or photocopies thereof. Computer generated reports that contain the entire required input are allowable. Forms are available from the Awards Manager with an SASE. Forms are also available on the KEY Forms page of this Website. The basic award will be available via Postal Mail only. Bar awards and endorsements can be applied for via email applications, using the prescribed format.
   

• The award program has be designed as to allow for future awards that may include a WAS, DX and Grid program. Future awards will be determined and added as the need arises.
   

• QSL confirmation is NOT required for the Digital award.
   

• Ten-Ten Awards general rules as prescribed on the Ten-Ten Website and requirements are applicable.

I. CERTIFICATE RULES

• No contacts prior to April 1, 1998 may be submitted.
• All stations worked must have been in the County/Region/Unitary Authority being claimed at the time of the contact.
• Contacts to/from fixed, mobile or portable stations are valid.
• The initial certificate will be issued on submission of any 5 Counties/Regions/Unitary Authorities.
• Endorsements may be applied for on submission of (in total) 10, 20 (merit endorsement), 30, 40 (excellence endorsement), and 50 Counties/Regions/Unitary Authorities.
• The following Country Seals may be applied for:
  • ES – England Seal – Awarded when minimum of 32 English Counties/ Regions/UA’s are worked.
  • SS – Scotland Seal – Awarded when minimum 8 Scottish Regions/UA’s are worked.
  • WS – Wales Seal – Awarded when minimum 5 Welsh Regions/UA’s are worked.
• The Great Britain Seal (GBS) will be issued automatically when ES + SS + WS have been issued.
• A special All Great Britain Counties and Regions Certificate (AGB) will be issued free to any applicant who submits all 67 Counties/Regions/Authorities.
• All applications for the initial certificate, seals or endorsements must include the appropriate record information (see the worksheet link at the bottom of the page).
• The Great Britain 10-10 Counties and Regions application sheet and rules are available from the Award Manager. A written explanation of the organization structure of the Great Britain Counties and Regions Award is also available from the Award Manager.
• Email requests for certificates, seals or endorsements will be accepted, providing all relevant information is included.
• QSL confirmation of contact is NOT required, however a copy of the appropriate station log must be provided if requested by the Award Manager.
• 10-10 Awards general rules and requirements are applicable.

II. NOTES

• (a) Great Britain consists of England, Scotland and Wales. Northern Ireland is not part of Great Britain (a geographical area – the largest island in the British Isles).
• (b) England is divided into Counties and Unitary Authorities, while Scotland and Wales are divided into Unitary Authorities. These are shown, in alphabetical order, on the record sheet.
• (c) In 1974, the Counties were reorganised, and some Metropolitan areas were created
• (d) To further complicate matters, some districts within Counties or Metropolitan areas applied for, and received unitary status ( roughly translated ,they became financially independent of the Counties or Metropolitan areas). Some of these Unitary Authorities came into effect in 1996, some in 1997 and the rest come into effect on April 1st 1998.
• (e) For the purposes of this award, the English Counties are those based on Ceremonial Arrangements. Most Unitary Authorities in England are, for the purpose of Ceremonial Arrangements either ‘attached’ to a County or have ‘County status’.
• (f) Also for the purposes of this award, some Unitary Authorities have been grouped together in what has been called a Region, in England because there are many small UA’s in densely populated areas like London, while in Scotland and Wales because there are many relatively uninhabitated (particularly as regards amateur radio) UA’s.
• These Regions are clearly shown as ‘Regions’ on the record sheet, Unitary Authorities are shown in Italics.
• (g) Only contacts after April 1st 1998 are valid (which is when the last Unitary Authorities come into existence)
• (h) The addresses of British stations given in callbooks can be misleading because the postal address sometimes uses the OLD county system… .BEWARE.
• Also some TOWNS have the same name as Counties/Regions/UA’s … do not confuse the two.
• In the event of any uncertainty about which County/UA a particular town or village is part of, contact the CM who will try and help you out, but please look at the supplementary notes first.
• (i) As some Counties/Regions/UA’s are very sparsely populated (and very ‘thin’ on any radio amateurs , never mind those with 10-10 numbers), this is not a ‘Worked All Counties’ and Regions Award

Rules:

 

• The Lucky 13 Award is intended to demonstrate the ability to work the entire 10-meter band. You must have a VP number in order to obtain the Lucky 13 Award. Cost is free. Please include your E-mail address, if you have one.
• Work 13 different stations with a VP number on 13 different days on 13 different 100 kHz segments (of the 13 possible segments) of the 10-meter band from 28.500 through 29.700 MHz. Contacts plus or minus 10 kHz from each of the 100 kHz points are satisfactory.
• Mobile, portable or fixed operation is acceptable in any mode.
• Details for each contact must be submitted in the following order: frequency, VP number, 10-10 number, callsign, name, QTH (state/country), and date of contact.
• QSL confirmation is NOT required.
• 10-10 Awards general rules and requirements are applicable.

1-1 VP Awards

When a 10-10 member attains the 500 BAR, he/she will automatically become a member of the International 500 Club and will be assigned an Honorary VP Number to be used in conjunction with his/her 10-10 number. There are two additional activities available for members of the International 500 Club.

VP (Contact) Award

Rules:

 

• After a VP number is received a member can make a minimum of 100 contacts with other VP’s and exchange VP numbers for the basic VP contact award. Endorsements are available for contacts in multiples of 100. VP numbers may be used only once. The award is available to all current paid members of 10-10 at no cost. Upgrades are SASE USA and DX.
• VP contacts occur when both parties have a VP number.
• Application information must include the following: name, callsign, address, city, state, zip code, 10-10 number, VP number, E-mail address, if you have one, and description of VP award being applied for.
• Application data must be in the following format: VP number, 10-10 number, callsign, name, state/country, and contact date.
• No minimum QSO time requirement is in effect for any VP award.
• Contacts listed on the application must be in VP number order.
• Include 100 VP contacts in each application.
• QSL confirmation is NOT required for the VP contact program.
• Convention QSO’s, while mobile in other state(s), are allowed for the VP contact program.

VP Worked All States Award

Rules:

 

• A VP member may earn the VP WAS award for completing contacts and exchanging VP numbers with other 10-10 VP members in each of the 50 United States.
• VP contacts occur when both parties have a VP number.
• Application information must include the following: name, callsign, address, city, state, zip code, 10-10 number, VP number, E-mail address, if you have one, and description of VP award being applied for.
• Application data must be in the following format: state, VP number, 10-10 number, callsign, name, and contact date. VP numbers may be used only once.
• No minimum QSO time requirement is in effect for any VP award.
• VP WAS QSO’s are allowed only from within a 50 mile radius of the home QTH.
• Application data shall be listed alphabetically by state.
• QSL conformation IS required for the VP WAS award. On all QSL cards, the call sign of both stations must be clearly legible. Photocopies are acceptable. Please send enough return postage if you send cards. Copies will not be returned unless specifically requested and sufficient return postage is included.
• 10-10 Awards general rules and requirements are applicable.
