Making the effort

Postby kd5de » Sun Jan 11, 2009 11:18 am

Well now that I have no earthly reason to have any microsoft in the shack except to run win 10-10 and ygpsk I am finally taking the time to get shed of that OS totally. I am installing ubuntu 8.10 on a spare desktop and going to make an attempt to run ygpsk and win 10-10 under wine. If I have success I will make an install on the laptop and resolve all the issues. The laptop is running XP and I do believe that in the time it takes it to boot up a rabbit could colonize the state of Texas. In the past because of the business it was necessary to have MS in the office, but now that there is no office it is time to get shed of the pain.

OpenOffice has replaced MS office. in my opinion.. I even run it on the last XP machine I have at work and removed MSoffice. .DOCX problems can be worked around now so there is no need for it anymore.

Anyone succesfully run Win1010 in WINE? I'd really like to see this program ported. Lot's of Linux users out here and growing. I'm not willing to run an XP machine just to run Win1010.
