Chat Room Abuse

Well as expected some young people finally found the chat room and played the nasty games. Well folks there is a link when you bring the chat room up called Tutorial. Take the time to read it and you will be surprised to find that you can use the /ignore command to make a users input disappear from the screen. If use dumbbell logs in and puts junk into the room just use /ignore dumbell and you won't see his junk. Also many have been assigned as moderators in the chat room, if you can type /kick dumbbell and he disappears well he is no longer in chat. I can of course ban a bunch of usernames, but that is time consuming.

It is my function to maintain the site, but it is not my function to train our members on how to use what is available. I spend an hour everyday taking care of security issues as it is and I am a volunteer.

Well folks I have spent most of the day assigning moderators to the chat room. You must be a registered user to become a moderator. If you are using the chat room and have become a moderator or want to help out drop me an email. Since this forum is readable by the public eye I will not post what actions you can take to get ride of or banish a user that is not a 10-10 member. Please note it is policy that you don't ban a user that is a 10-10 member just because he does not agree with you. These actions are only for those bad boys that drop in to abuse the chat room with things that don't need to be posted. If you as a moderator abuse the office you will be banned, I have enough to do as it is.
