1010 Info Exchange for JT65 Contacts.

Hello all,

I have searched the forum for info on this subject but it seems a little sparse. I haven't seen much 1010 activity on JT65 but would like to try it. What are the correct exchange procedures that make a legal 1010 contact? If someone could direct me to this info I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Hi Del, It should be the same no matter what mode is used to consider it a 10-10 contact.
The contact will be made on 10mtrs, an exchange of Name, State/Country, and 10-10#. You will have to modify your JT-65 Info files for the information to be sent properly.

What software are you using for JT65? I have WSJT and JT65-HF.

Hi Keven, I'm using jt65hf. I have a macro set up to send Del OH 1010#. Is that ok or am I looking at something else? Also, can the grid square count as the location and is the date/time ok from the software itself? I really like jt65hf but I was starting to think maybe, for 1010, I should go to psk31. Any info you can send my way I would appreciate. Tnx.

I would say you have it correct. Use that macro for 10-10 contacts and that will do ok. Due to JT65 needing an accurate clock for proper operation, the computer's date and time will be ok too. And we don't use grid squares for 10-10 but some other contests do. So just keep using the grid square as normal JT65 operating procedure.

As for PSk-31, you will find more 10-10 folks there. Look around 28.120. I have not made any 10-10 JT-65 contacts but doesn't mean there isn't any activity.
