Hello from KB6POE

Postby KB6POE » Wed Dec 14, 2011 11:57 pm

Hello Everyone,

I just signed up to this forum. I'm not a 1010 member yet. I'm just trying to see how active this group is first. I have a lot of things to sign up for, local club, ARRL, local RACES/CERT, etc. but I have very very little personal time. I tried getting on the daily net this morning and I barely heard KC8IM and he acknowledged my call sign but then I couldn't hear anything after that. I have an old Heathkit SS-9000 with the matching PS-9000 power supply and a Heathkit SA-2060 antenna tunner that my Father just gave me. I'm using a poorly constructed dipole that's taped to my wall yet I've been able to make contacts as far as Minnesota on 10 meters with the power dialed down considering I'm so close to the antenna.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello to everyone and I'll see where this goes.

Richard

Welcome, Richard!

Hope you will enjoy the activity on 10 meters. It's a fun band. 10-10 is a good group to help you enjoy this band.

Are you participating in any of the nets?
