I hope some of you will be able to put a bunch of contacts into your log for the annual ARRL Ten Meter contest next week. Increased solar flux numbers have helped propagation the past two months and I expect the Ten Meter contest to be the best in eight years! Please get on the air to swap some 10-10 numbers.

There was a lot of DX during the past three months as you will see below. During the CW DX contest last weekend, one friend came within ten countries of working five band DXCC! The 10-10 Digi Contest was a nice event and the W6OI #109 special event was held while I was mobile on vacation when I worked several members. The averaged solar flux is still increasing so expect a great 10-10 winter for working the DX.

Countries Award: There was a record 48 upgrades this past quarter as a result of the 10-10 Board of Directors changing a rule NOT requiring QSL cards for any awards. IF you apply for any award, you must use a form from the 10-10 website OR submit the application from an approved software package like Win1010.

3D2 Fiji. Eric VK4NEF #34296 was in Fiji from October 26th to November 8th. Eric moved to Nauru with another DX group. Sebastien F8IJV #64604, was in Fiji in October with call 3D2JV.

3D2 Rotuma Island. The 3D2R DXpedition to Rotuma in the South Pacific began September 27th. David K3LP #13394, Atilano PY5EG #31883, Paul N6PSE #68859 were on the air for ten days.

4X Israel. David N6HD #13064, was in Israel and active as 4X/N6HD from October 23rd to November 3rd. 6V Senegal. Sebastien F8IJV/6V7Q #64604, has been on FM on 29100 and SSB 28430 about 1600 UTC.

6Y Jamaica. Dennis 6Y5/W1UE #10948, was on with call sign 6Y1U from September 19h to October 4th.

7P Lesotho. Doc WB6OJB/7P8JK #70675 and Frosty K5LBU/7P8CF #51322, were in Lesotho from September 15-22nd. Doc is in my log on September 21st.

7Q Malawi. Ely IN3VZE #31856, was in Malawi using call sign 7Q7CE from September 17th to October 1st.

8R Guyana. Paul WN4AMO talked to Lennox 8R1Z #72707 on September 9th at 2200 UTC on 28395.

9N Nepal. Luis XE1L #18056 was with a large group using call sign 9N7MD in Nepal from November 13-25th.

C6 Bahama Islands. Rich N0HJZ #41614, was in the Bahama Islands as C6ARW from October 27- 31st.

C9 Mozambique. Mike K9NW #29804, was using call C91NW from November 21-29th in Mozambique.

E5 South Cook. Bill N7OU #69318, was on CW from October 17th to November 15th as E51NOU and then moved to North Cook as E51MAN from November 17th to the present. Bill WB6BFG #74700 was E51BFG in October.

EA8 Canary Islands. Michael EA8/DL3FCG #70802, was on from the Canary Islands from October 9-16th. LoTW.

EL Liberia. The EL2A DXpedition in Liberia was from November 21-29th. Ned AA7A/EL2NS #11185, Fred G4BWP/EL2WP #28684 and Bud N7CW/EL2CW #10375. F France. Jean F5IL #32916, was active as TM5HT from Houat Island on October 28-30th on SSB, CW, and Digi.

FP St. Pierre & Miquelon. Eric FP/KV1J #31247 was in St. Pierre from October 25th to November 1st.

HI3 Dominican Republic. John HI3/KL7JR #43374 and his XYL Claire WL7MY have moved to an ocean front condo on Hispaniola Island. They will be there until the end of 2013. I worked John on 28459 at 2000 UTC so good luck.

HR Honduras. Jim W9GL #5266, was in Honduras from October 24th to November 3rd using call HQ2GL. LoTW.

HZ Saudi Arabia. Peter VK6APW/HZ1PS #27324 is now in Saudi Arabia and
worked on 28345 at 1700 UTC.

J6 St Lucia. Bill K9HZ #2618 was in St. Lucia from November 19th to December 3rd. Mike W0MU #23887 was on the island for the CW contest in November.

JA Japan. Tack JE1RXJ #39968, was on 28456 at 2330 UTC working all over the USA.

JT Mongolia. Naran JT1BV #63422, Togoto WV6E #61526, & Ken K4ZW #18573, were active as JV7A in Mongolia during October. Logs go to LOTW.

KH0 Mariana Islands. Al KW2X #51110, and friends, were on as AH0BT during the SSB contest in October.

KH2 Guam. Akira JR1VAY/AH2J #24338, was on Guam from November 11-15th. Toshi JI3ERV #39995 and friends, were on as AH2R during the SSB contest in October.

KP2 Virgin Island. Tony N2TK #22425, was in the SSB DX Contest from St. Croix in October as KP2M.

KP4 Puerto Rico. James KP4/KH2RU #73897, was on 28455 at 1530 UTC on a Sunday morning.

OM Slovakia. Pierre F6FNL #50462, has retired to Slovakia and will be active as OM0DX.

OZ Denmark. Bernd DL8AAV #40976 was on SSB as OZ0AV from September 12-24th from an IOTA Island.

P2 Papua New Guinea. Renzo I2KRR #27983, is now active as P29FR on SSB until March 2012.

P4 Aruba. John W2GD #14109, was active as P40W from Santa Cruz, during the SSB Contest October 29-30th and CW Contest November 26-27th.
Robert W5AJ #11640 used call P40P from Aruba from October 26-30th and in the CQWW DX contest. L0TW.
Gerry WA2TTI #21530, was on Aruba as P40GH from November 7-15th. QSL to WA2TTI.

PJ4 Bonaire. A new member Hennie PJ4/PE1MAE #76133 is in Bonaire for five months. He will be using a TS50 radio with a Moxon antenna. John PJ4/K4BAI #45389, was on from November 22-29th with call PJ4A.

PJ6 Saba Island. Fred K9VV #8707, used call sign PJ6/NP2X on CW from September 4-9th on Saba. PJ7 Sint Maarten. Paul W4FC #5471 and George W4BUW #9126 were on Sint Maarten with call PJ7N.

T2 Tuvalu. The T2T DXpedition from November 10th to December 2nd, is now over from Tuvalu. Members were Eric VK4NEF #34296 and Tim NL8F #32796.

T32 Christmas Island. The T32C DXpedition to the Kiribati Islands was from September 28th to October 26th. Falk DK7YY #23467, Arnold N6HC #29959, Justin G4TSH #42972 and Gerard F2JD #63443.

T6 Afghanistan. Eric K9GY/T6MO #22330, has moved to a new location in Afghanistan. LoTW.

TK Corsica Island. Lee F5MUX #42039, used call sign TK5UX on Corsica from August 20th to September 3rd. Patrice F5RBB #71709 operated as TK/F5RBB from Corsica from September 10-24th on SSB & digital modes.

TL Central Africa Rep. Elvira IV3FSG #54292, was on as TL8ES from M'Baiki in November.

V3 Belize. Mike W7ASF/V31MH #53132, was in Belize from October 26th to November 4th. Dennis K2SX/V31SX #9023 was on from November 22-29th.

V5 Namibia. Alfons DJ8VC/V55V #69618, operated from Namibia in September.

V6 Micronesia. Sho JA7HMZ/V63DX #30900 was active from Pohnpei Island from October 3-8th.

VP9 Bermuda. Les N1SV #71546, was again active from Bermuda as VP9/N1SV from October 28-31st. He used the DX club call VP9I in the CQ WW SSB Contest.
Ray VP9/ND8L #16810 and Jamie VP9/WW3S were again active with the DX club call VP9I for the RTTY DX Contest on September 24-25th.

YN Nicaragua. Mike AJ9C #41205, was in Nicaragua as YN2CC from November 24th to December 5th.

ZD Ascension Island. Tom K7ZZ/ZD8ZZ #71378, was on Ascension Island, from November 7-22nd.

9M2 W Malaysia. Rich PA0RRS #24343, will be on as 9M2MRS from Penang Island until February 13,2012.

A3 Tonga. Craig KI0SO/A35CT #39172, will be in Tonga until May 2012. Craig charges batteries by solar cells and can only run 100 watts on his radio. Holger ZL3IO/A31IO #22401 will be in Tonga in late January.

CY0 Sable Island. Randy N0TG #12990, will be back on Sable in July 2012.

HK0 Malpelo. In January 2012, a DXpedition to Malpelo Island with call sign HK0NA is planned. Look for Pedro HK3JJH #47437 and Gary K9SG #62951.

J5 Guinea Bissau. Lucio I3LDP #45838, might be in J5 for some HF activity from March 23rd to April 5, 2012.

J6 St Lucia. Steve WF2S #45134, is heading to J6 from December 4-14th. He will operate CW, PSK, RTTY and SSB.

KH3 Johnson Island. Susan W7KFI #72973, has announced her plans to go to Johnston Island for 10 days in late January 2012. She received permission from the USAF for this solo event using SSB, RTTY & PSK31.

PJ2 Curacao. Andreas PJ2/DK5ON #54260 will be on Curacao from March 12-20th, 2012.

PJ4 Bonaire. Jean-Paul F8BJI #71704 and two dozen friends will be on Bonaire from January 12-23rd, 2012.

T32 East Kiribati. Six operators will be on East Kiribati from Jan 17th to February 2, 2012. Look for Lee N8LJ #61088 as T32LJ and Stan AC8W #62885 as T32WW.

TI Costa Rica. Kyle WA4PGM #50763, Roy WK4Y #60893, will be active as TI5N during the SSB Contest on March 3-4th, 2012. David K3LP #13394 and Kamal N3KS/TI5KS #11541, will be in Costa Rica in Feb 2012.

V2 Antigua. Dan K6IF #27705, will use call sign V25R from Antigua from December 9-11th.

V5 Namibia. Dave GI4FUM #21599, will be in Namibia during March 2012 for ten days.

Propagation: Propagation is better as more sun spots push the solar flux to a record 180 in October. Expect the daily solar flux to range from 135-190 this next quarter as solar cycle 24 continues to improve. NASA predicts the peak of this cycle to be in two years in the summer of 2013.

On December 4th the solar flux was 160, the A index was 8 and K index 2. Expect the best conditions on Dec 5-9th, Jan 1-3rd, 27-30th, Feb 23-26th, March 21-23rd. Over the next three months, for USA stations, expect a 75% chance of DX in the mornings to Europe or Africa and a 75% chance into Asia, South America or the Pacific in the late afternoon. To tell what DX paths are open, listen for the beacons from 28.175-28.300 (especially 28.200).
