10-10 NEWS Cover & Lapel Pin Images

The latest edition of the printed version of the 10-10 NEWS should be in most everyone's mail box by now so I wanted to bring something to everyone's attention before it becomes the focus of countless emails and conspiracy theorists.

First there are three points that I need to make about image #11 on the anniversary pin selection page:
I did not create image #11 on the selection page.
I did not create image #11 on the selection page.
I did not create image #11 on the selection page.

Now that I have those three issues out of the way I can explain why this might come up. If you look at image #11 you will notice that it bears a striking similarity to the latest cover of the 10-10 NEWS but it is not the same image. As stated above, I did not create image #11 and I don’t know who created it. Only Mel, KD5DE has this information about the images which he did not share with me.

If you will look closer at the latest cover of the NEWS you will see the word ANNIVERSARY in the banner while image #11 has BIRTHDAY emblazoned across its banner. I had the cover of the NEWS created a good while before any of the images were posted so the similarity between the NEWS cover and image #11 is purely coincidental. I picked this image solely for its appearance and not because the image appeared on image #11.

I do not know the current position of any of the images in the polling so please let's not tie up the email lists or bug Mel about why the images look the same.
