I am still busy and am a few days late.
I have posted a Mid-Season update on Es propagation on the PropNET Studies Blog:
We are at the 10th week of an 18 week season.
So far this year a little ho-hum. Activity volumes are way down, but active hours are close to normal levels.
You guys need to make some noise this week for the Spirit of 76 !!!
I believe that Solar flux has peaked. There are sunspot regions but the Sun is still quiet most of the time.
Reports of visible Noctilucent Clouds are still occurring. These are seen in northern latitudes during the summer, located in the Es Layer, and usually are only visible during times of low solar activity. Meteors are known to influence them. Good Es openings have coincided with the appearance of these clouds. I think the physicists still don't know why we are seeing them this year.
You might want to get on. Let's hope things get livelier. It is not uncommon for the second half of the season to be much better that the first. May it occur this year... please.
