I am taking this time to formally introduce myself to this forum. First off, thanks again Mel for starting this forum. I am sure it will soon be populated with 1010ers around the world!
My name is Dan Harriman, and I live in Orange, Texas Grid EM30cc. My call is KC5GXL, and have been a ham operator since 1994. I started out as a tech with code, and within the year became an extra. I became interested in 10 meters when I got my license, since that was the only HF radio I had, an HTX100. At the present time I have an ICOM IC730 as my main HF rig, and still have the HTX100, plus an HTX10.
From the very first time I listened to 10 meters, there was this constant buzz of activity, with folks asking if I had a 1010 number. I finally found out what 1010 was, and what it stood for, and I became a member, and have enjoyed it ever since.
I have been to the Hill Country Picnic several times, and attended the 1010 convention in Knoxville. I have made several friends both in person, and on the air. I operate mobile quite often, and have given out several counties while traveling in different areas.
I am also active on 2 meters, and am a member of ARES, and the local 2 meter club. I am in the process of setting up one of my rigs for PSK, and I do a lot of CW on 40 meters in the evening. I am a paperchaser, and enjoy the hunt.
Well that's my story, and I am sticking to it!
Hope to work you on the air,
73, Dan Harriman ARS KC5GXL
Orange, Texas
