Greetings!
I am Tomas, and my callsign is NW7US. I was first licensed in Connecticut, as KA1VGL. My ten-ten number is 56526. I think, if I remember correcly, that I first obtained my ten-ten number while living in eastern Montana, under the second callsign I was assigned, N7PMS. That callsign, needless to say, presented certain challenges during my operation on various HF bands. When I upgraded to Advanced, I obtained the call, NW7US. Shortly after obtaining that callsign, while in Washington state, I upgraded to Extra.
I write for Popular Communications, CQ Magazine, and CQ VHF, on the topic of space weather and radio wave propagation. I also write occassionally for Monitoring Times, again regarding space weather and propagation.
I run http://hfradio.org/ which includes a propagation section. I've been running that site since the mid-1990's.
I love digital modes, from CW to PSK-31 and Olivia. I also love ten meters. What a band this can be! I cannot wait until conditions improve. With 5 watts, I've worked many countries. Twenty five watts and I was reaping the QSO's. Imagine 100 watts!
Imagine DIGITAL communications on ten meters when the solar flux reaches about 85. Those will be great days!
I am also a musician. See my signature, below, for the link to my music. I play guitar, and write songs. You can hear some of my music right on my main home page at http://hfradio.org/
I could say more, but you can read some of the 'more' about me by going to QRZ.com and looking up my callsign, NW7US. You can also read about me using the links, below.
I look forward to meeting you on the air. Especially on digital modes.
73 and happy hunting DX!
